About Us

So, you're here at the About Page, probably wondering who we are.

Mika

Wow. I was actually dreaming about co-hosting something, anything with some people I know but I didn't know my wish would be granted so soon o_O And so, I thank Emily for giving me this chance *bows low*

On to the actual introduction ^_^ My real name shall not be disclosed for person reasons ( which include self-bashing ) so I'd like to go by my nickname, Mika. I love everything and anything Japanese ( except the Japanese occupation -___-" ) and I'm a hardcore otaku. But the more deep-rooted habit of mine is reading, which I've been exposed to since young. I've started writing fiction and fanfiction, as of two years ago and I'm a procrastinator who writes a 3-page chapter and then runs off before promptly forgetting about the existence of my piece of writing. I adore fantasy, medieval and dystopia, the second being the most loved.

And who wouldn't love Darcy *cue swoon* from Pride and Prejudice?

I also love Juliet Marillier and watching Cat and Emily launch into an argument about why a certain book is hated ( Cat ) or loved ( Em ). And then, they suddenly hi-five about hating a book?

With that said, I'm signing off. Please don't be startled if you find some strange suffixes at the end of names or weird exclamations because my otaku side is currently threatening to take over...

Catherine

Just, no. I'm sorry you've been greeted by several extremely friendly reviews, but I'm That girl. The one who tries and fails to have a witty introduction, but the ultimate hater of whatever book is your favorite and bashing them on her blog.

Cats are haters, but I'll join you in your hate-quest in collecting your most hated book, driving a stake through their heart and burning them at sunrise, whatever religious belief floats your boat. So this isn't the nicest cat on the block that you cuddle and feed (I'd probably claw your eyes out if you tried), but the emotional cat that stalks you from the furthest corner in your peripheral vision (which I have to say is already rather limited).

Anyone who owns The Fault In Our Stars and would lend it to me is my new best friend, and anyone who hates To Kill A Mockingbird is my sworn enemy.

Emily

Well, hi there fellow book lover! *waves hand enthusiastically* I'm Emily, as you would probably already know. As you can guess, I am a HUGE book lover. Not to mention a crazy blogger (I have at least 6 other blogs just waiting to be used for who knows what!). I am also a proud Christian, and I believe in God with all my heart. Well, we'll be back to that some other time, but you're here to discuss books... right?? :D
So... my favourite genre tends to lean in different directions constantly. For now, I have decided that it is Dystopia and Mystery. I'm also a real sucker for Classic Fantasy. *gasp* No kidding.
I feel so silly right now.
Down to business.
I've been reviewing books for about a year or two now, but I've been loving reading for a long time now. Since I was a kid, when my mom read me those little storybooks with lots of cute illustrations... heard of Animal Ark? Good times. I also love a good ol' classic. The Railway Children was so cute!
I love writing as well, making up imaginary worlds in my head and hoping that they will exist but never will, and really, anything to do with literature.
I love purple and basically bright and beautiful colours! Sparkly...
Well, blogging is one of my favourite hobbies besides needlework, writing, reading, being crafty (not in the evil, tap fingers together way, but you know... hands getting dirty?), and well, a lot of things.
Oooh ooh! I love archery too. So I'm a real sucker for cool guys that can shoot arrows. Ha.
Wierd Random Fact: I have a whole list of Boys in Books that I'm crushing over. It's growing and growing, to say the least. I randomly hyperventilate over them at times. Seriously. No, don't judge. I know you do too ;)
Sometimes I dance around with my books when I'm crazy happy, like a squirrel.
Wait.
Can you tell if squirrels are happy? O.o
I probably sound pretty self-obsessed... Do I?
Well, dear reader, I hope to get to know you over the course of time. It's going to be an exciting journey exploring books and I hope you will have a great ride with us! It's always great to get to know people and share the love of reading!
